Her third-grade teacher wrote: “She has been quick in sensing the rhythm of a poem, but when she recites poetry, she drops her head forward and a bit to the left.” Judith Terzi has been trying to get it right ever since. She is the author of five chapbooks including Sharing Tabouli and Ghazal for a Chambermaid (Finishing Line Press, 2011/2013) and If You Spot Your Brother Floating By and Casbah (Kattywompus Press, 2015/2016). Her poems appear widely in literary journals and anthologies, have garnered prizes and honorable mentions, and have been nominated for Best of the Web and Net. “Ode to Malala Yousafzai” was included in Keynotes, a study guide for the artist-in-residence program for State Theater New Jersey and on Words and Music, a series for Radio 3 of the BBC. She holds an M.A. in French Literature and is a former educator who taught high school French for many years as well as English at California State University, Los Angeles and in Algiers, Algeria. She lives in Pasadena, California with her husband and their cockatiel, Gris-Gris.
